Severstal’s owner says ready to invest in high-speed railways
ST. PETERSBURG, Jun 16 (PRIME) -- Alexei Mordashov, the core owner of steelmaker Severstal, is ready to invest in construction of high-speed railways in Russia, he told reporters on Friday during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).
Top bank Sberbank CEO German Gref asked Mordashov during a business breakfast whether he was ready to invest into high-speed railway projects in the country.
“I think you know the answer even without me answering the question. I am an investor, and everything depends on conditions here. The potential answer to your question is yes, I mean we are ready to invest into high-speed railways. This is an issue of conditions. I think that everyone in this hall will have a reaction like that,” Mordashov said.
